It was this turn of event that had showered them with myriads of both social and economic problems that is threatening and eating deep into their social fabrics of existence. Thus resulting into untold suffering, abject poverty, darkening ignorance and cocktail of all kind of diseases which stares right into the eyes of these people every day reducing otherwise perfect sanctity of human life to mere meaningless or devoid living.

It was on this backdrop that this Vocational centre was conceived first as an idea then as community initiatives practical tools geared toward alleviation of poverty via community empowerment approach for self-reliance and sustainability.

Moyale Youth Polytechnic is a duly registered Technical and Vocational Centre situated in arid region of Northern Kenya in Africa where one of the most marginalized community lives.

​

Marsabit County where this Institution is situated is the largest, poorest and most expansive county in Kenya occupied by cosmopolitan nomadic pastoralist communities whose sources of livelihood revolves exclusively around their livestock since time immemorial. Nowadays following constant and persistent year in, year out drought, precipitated by sudden climatic changes and fast encroaching desertification, most of these nomads’ cattle had been swept away forcing them to increasingly rely on the relief agencies for help something that is culturally repugnant to this people.
